Cassini’s final ventures into Saturn’s atmosphere last year yielded a number of scientific findings, with the results of multiple studies based on the craft’s data published in Geophysical Research Letters. One study examined how the particles and gases from Saturn’s rings fall directly into its atmosphere, and another discovered an electric-current system connecting the top of the planet’s atmosphere to the rings.
