Mars’ Rivers Ran For Billions Of Years After Atmospheric Loss

Rivers on Mars flowed long after much of the planet’s atmosphere had vanished, a study published online in Science Advances suggests. Mars’ atmosphere was almost completely gone 3.7 billion years ago, but its rivers, which were very wide, didn’t dry up until less than a billion years ago, scientists say.
