Ancient creature may hold clues to dinosaur-bird transition
An ancient bird with a tooth-filled beak may help researchers understand how dinosaurs transitioned into birds. Ichthyornis dispar, which lived around 86 million years ago, was about the size of a seagull and had powerful velociraptor-like jaws and teeth, according to findings published in Nature.
