Nonnative foxes and feral cats have wreaked havoc on Australia’s native wildlife despite interventions, so conservation biologist Katherine Moseby and her colleagues have tried teaching bilbies and rat kangaroos to fear and avoid cats. A study published in the Journal of Applied Ecology found the approach might work, and a larger test is underway.
