Nitrate Contaminants In Drinking Water Could Cause Cancer, Study Finds

A study published in the journal Environmental Research found that millions of tons of nitrates from industrial farms contaminate the country’s drinking water per year and causes almost 12,600 cases of cancer annually. The risk varies by region, but California and Iowa have the highest number of nitrate-related cancer cases, the study found.
