Water Detected In Atmosphere of Rocky Habitable Zone Exoplanet For First Time

Astronomers have detected water in the atmosphere of an exoplanet located 111 light-years from Earth, according to findings published in Nature Astronomy. The existence of K2-18b, which has a different atmospheric composition and is heavier than Earth, “brings us closer to answering the fundamental question: Is the Earth unique?” says study author Angelos Tsiaras.
