Apes may be able to follow eye gaze

New research published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences suggests that contrary to previous beliefs, apes may be able to follow the gaze of other apes. “Gaze following is an important component of many behaviors that are thought to be characteristically human, so our findings suggest that apes might also engage in these behaviors,” said study author Juan Perea-Garcia.
