NASA has repaired an Earth-based antenna, allowing scientists to reconnect with the Voyager 2 spacecraft after seven months. Voyager 2, which launched 43 years ago and moved into interstellar space about two years ago, can receive commands again, raising researchers’ hopes of learning more about the little known region.
Can you imagine traveling through space for 43 years? traveling 12 billion miles?  leaving the solar system for interstellar space?  If you visit the Jet Propulsion Laboratory JPL (they have an annual open house) you can actually listen to Voyagers 1 and 2 beeping back to Earth from outside the solar system. Click on the title above to learn that NASA can now control Voyager 2 again.  Even at 12 billion miles and growing……THE ULTIMATE KOOL SCIENCE!
