The Curiosity rover may have found evidence of megafloods that occurred on Mars about 4 billion years ago, a study in Scientific Reports suggests. Researchers examined data collected by the rover at Gale Crater and found deposits that could only have been left by megafloods, which they say were likely caused by an asteroid impact that may have triggered heavy rains.
