Parker Solar Probe flies close to sun for first time

The Parker Solar Probe communicated with NASA scientists on Wednesday, two days after making its first close flyby of the sun and setting a record by getting within 15 million miles of the star. The probe is expected to execute 23 more flybys in the next seven years, approaching nearer to the sun each time and gathering data about the sun’s composition and workings.
