First Native Americans were about 250 Siberians, DNA study suggests
The first humans in the Americas were about 250 people who migrated from Siberia around 15,000 years ago, according to a study published in Genetics and Molecular Biology. Researchers collected DNA from 10 members of indigenous groups in Central and South America, 10 Siberian individuals and 15 people from China, looking for information about the original founding group.
