Seed In Chang’e 4 Minibilsphere Die During Cold Lunar Night

Cotton seeds that arrived on the moon on China’s Chang’e 4 lander and began sprouting have died in the extreme nighttime cold, according to mission scientists. All the items in the lander’s minibiosphere, including potato, rapeseed and Arabidopsis seeds, fruit-fly eggs and yeast, were compromised.
