The Perseverance rover launched from Cape Canaveral, Fla., at 7:50 a.m. today aboard a United Launch Alliance Atlas V 541 rocket and is slated to reach Mars in February 2021. NASA plans to have the rover cache samples of rock that can eventually be brought back to Earth.
