Warming weather rather than human hunting was probably responsible for the extinction of woolly rhinos about 14,000 years ago, a genetic study in Current Biology suggests. Researchers used genetic data from the tissue of 14 woolly rhinos to get an idea of how the creatures lived in the years up until their extinction.
